Determining Your Colors
How can I Find the Right Dress Color for my Skin Tones?
It’s time to hook up with a friend or two and go shopping or better yet, pull clothes out of your drawers that you love to wear. You know the ones we’re talking about, the ones that make you look great in any light, the ones that make you feel good and healthy!
In a well-lit room, take turns trying on solid colors. For this to work, you must be completely honest with one another about which colors work and which make them look pale, washed out or sickly. Takes notes for each person.
Compare the colors that suit you best with the charts below to determine which category you fit into and discover more colors that will accentuate your natural beauty and skin tone!
Universal Colors:
Some colors can be worn by anyone, like blue! Light blue is very universal, but there are so many shades that you need to make sure you've got the right shade for your skin tone. You can decide whether or not you've got the right shade by comparing several shades against your skin in good lighting. Dark blues can fit just about any tone as well! Find one that works for you and combine it with beige, lavendar or sage.
Take a chance with some turquoise, beige or purple. Like blue, the possibilities are endless! Try some on and get the opinions of your friends. Combine them with other colors from your tones and have some fun with color!
Cool Tones:
People who can wear cool tones generally have fair or pale skin, ash color tones in their hair and blue eyes. Others who fit this category may have pale skin and very dark hair, resulting in a high contrast appearance.

Black is a great color for anyone falling into this category, but warm tones are not, especially rusts and browns.
Warm Tones:
People falling in this category have warm skin tones with red or golden hair and brown eyes. Blue eyes are possible too, but not bright blue. Their skin tone will be freckly or sallow, but not dark.

Warms should never wear black, navy or many shades of pastels. They should stick to autumnal colors such as rust, brown or khaki.
Mid Tones:
Those who can wear mid tones usually have green or blue eyes. Their complexion may even have a blue tint to it or be creamy.
Warm pastels are perfect for the mid tone person. Very bright, cold colors should be avoided.
